We take applications from all undergraduate students at UW! However, you must have at least three semesters remaining as an undergrad in order to apply.
CAN I APPLY TO WASB MORE THAN ONCE?
We understand that our application process is competitive, and we highly encourage applicants to try again if they are not initially brought on during a particular semester.
HOW COMPETITIVE IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS?
Each semester we typically receive between 50-100 applications. The new member class size varies each semester according to the number of active WASBs, so there is a chance for second round interviews if applications are particularly competitive.
WHAT ARE THE APPLICATION PROCESS STEPS?
Step 1: Answer the written application prompts.
Step 2: Submit a file for the multi-media question.
Step 3: If invited for an interview, prepare to meet with the executive team.
Step 4: Knock our socks off.
HOW CAN I MAKE MY APPLICATION STAND OUT?
When assessing both the written responses and multi-media submissions, we look for personality, creativity, and quality. We want to get a glimpse into your personality, see how you think, and get to know you. Additionally, don’t forget to keep our four core values in mind:
Building a welcoming and inclusive community
Helping to develop students professionally
Strengthening teamwork and leadership skills
Celebrating and enhancing the student experience
Overall, we are looking for individuals who think without constraints and have a unique perspective. In terms of quality, we can easily identify candidates who have done their research. To find out more about WASB’s structure and events, check out the Facebook page or the teams section of the website. Most of all, just be yourself.

WASB requires a relatively high level of commitment. All members are required to attend meetings on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM. During each semester, members are expected to fulfill their role by helping plan an event. Additionally, members must attend all-member retreats and in-org workshops.
